These six analogues about the relationship between diety and the world
are adaptations from theologian John Cobb.
The diagrams differentiate between the six theistic ideas of the
world's great religions. Being graphic, they, along with the simple
lables, can be more easily grasped by a student (6th graders and up).
They address a person's verbal-logical abilities as well as visio-spatial
abilities.
Try presenting them to a learner and then encourage him/her to
identify the one he/she believes. Ask the learner to create more
possibilities.
This diagram was used in a recent sermon at the Los Altos United
Methodist Church in Long Beach California called "The
Gods Must be Crazy"
